Amazon Prime Video will soon release its popular Nicole Kidman-led series 'Expats Episode 3'. The series follows the lives of multiple women living as, as the title suggests, expatriates in Japan, far away from their homes. Prime Video has already dropped two of the six episodes of 'Expats'. The third episode of the series will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video beginning on Friday, February 2.

Release Schedule

  • Episode 3 - Friday, February 2
  • Episode 4 - Friday, February 9
  • Episode 5 - Friday, February 16
  • Episode 6 - Friday, February 23

Time

Amazon Prime Video airs new episodes on Fridays, such as The Boys, sometimes premiere installments on the evening before their officially listed release date. So, Expats episode 3 could come out on Thursday, February 1 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

What could happen?

Nicole Kidman plays Margaret Woo, a mother of three, living in Hong Kong with her husband. As the series unfolds, one of her kids, Gus, entrusted to a young woman, ends up disappearing in a crowded market. The family moves on with their lives until the same young woman inadvertently enters back into their lives.

The viewers are kept on their toes, so it is difficult to accurately predict what could go down in the next episode.

Margaret does not lose hope that her son can be found. As she refuses to leave China, conflict is bound to arise within the series’ narrative.

Controversy

Amazon Prime was caught in a controversy for its decision to produce two series in Hong Kong about expatriates. It was criticised as being insensitive towards the city which was suffering from a rapidly deteriorating political situation under the Hong Kong national security law imposed by the government of the People's Republic of China. Author Janice Y. K. Lee is the daughter of Korean immigrants who left Hong Kong for the US with her family when she was 15.
