Johnny Depp, winner of Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards and a three-time Academy Awards nominee, has been in the news for the wrong reasons in the last few years. The 58-year old actor is suing his 36-year old ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for writing an article in the Washington Post, which he claims targeted him. He has said that Disney terminated his role as Captain Sparrow in the blockbuster movie "Pirates of the Caribbean". Heard retaliated by sueing Depp for $100 million for calling her a 'liar'. The Hollywood star met the Texas-born actress in 2009 on the set of the film "The Rum Diary". The couple married in February 2015 and divorced two years later.

The Kentucky-born actor recently concluded four days of testimony in the Amber Heard defamation case. Depp has been married twice previously both of which were well-publicized. The american actor has two children with Vanessa Paradis, one of his long-term girlfriends and since 2017, he has been single.

His first marriage with Lori Depp ended just as his career was starting off. His second marriage to Amber Heard has generated legal action and made headlines.

Lori Depp

Lori Depp met Johnny during a local music scene, as per her IMDb profile. Lori introduced Johnny to Nicolas Cage after they moved to Los Angeles. In the film A Nightmare On Elm Street, Johnny Depp and Nicolas Cage played drinking pals.

Lori and Johnny Depp divorced in 1985 after their marriage collapsed due to irreconcilable disagreements. Lori lost more than 70% of her hearing during a photoshoot for the cover of Vogue magazine when she was shot with an aerosol can gun.

Following this, Johnny met Vanessa Paradis, with whom he had two children. They did, however, separate in 2012.

Amber Heard

While filming The Rum Diary, a film based on Hunter S. Thompson's novel, Amber Heard met Johnny Depp for the first time. The couple married but the marriage did not last long. Amber filed for divorce from Johnny in 2016 and obtained a temporary restraining order against him after they married in 2015. Amber claimed that Johnny abused her verbally and physically during their relationship, and their divorce was widely publicized.

Amber dropped the restraining order after they separated in January 2017, and they issued a joint statement. Later, Johnny sued Amber for defamation in early 2019 over her charges of abuse, alleging she was abusive towards him during their relationship.

Amber has denied these allegations, and in August 2020, she countersued Johnny for social media harassment, alleging that he sought to organize her termination from her roles in the Aquaman film series and as a L'Oreal spokesperson.

Both lawsuits are still pending, and both parties have disputed the allegations made against them.

Johnny is currently unmarried and not known to be in a relationship.
