Even after violence outbreak, Trump secretly urged his security detail to take him to the Capitol on January 6
According to the head of Trump's protection detail that day, Trump was keen to travel to the Capitol on January 6. The former president urged the matter while traveling in the presidential armored vehicle.

The agent also reported, referencing a source close to Engel's congressional testimony, that Trump had been inclined to take a trip to the Capitol although being transferred in the presidential armored vehicle known as "The Beast." Engel informed the committee's investigators on January 6 that he and the former president had "different perspectives" on the matter. As a result, the motorcade eventually returned to the White House rather than Capitol Hill.
Bomb discovered at the Republican National Committee headquarters
According to reports, a bomb was found on the day when Trump visited the Republican National Committee headquarters to deliver his speech at the Ellipse. Moments later, supporters of Trump were seen fighting with security forces near the Capitol and trying to break into constrained parts of the facility.
This week, it was disclosed that the Secret Service devised the final plan to transport Trump to the Capitol on January 6. However, the DC police, who were swamped by protest rallies across the city, turned down their request.
Official facilities are prone to danger
The danger is particularly acute in Washington, where many office buildings, including the United States Capitol, are generally open to visitors. According to two law enforcement officials familiar with the situation, two explosives were discovered in two locations, each about a foot in length with equal spacing and electrical connections that were connected to a clock. Authorities are still investigating the devices and their elements to identify the appropriate substances within the pipe bombs, but both did appear to comprise an unidentified powder as well as some metal.
