Eric Trump reacts to Barron Trump reportedly shutting down whole floor of Trump Tower for private date

Eric Trump has weighed in on reports that his younger brother, Barron Trump, hosted a private romantic dinner at Trump Tower that reportedly required shutting down an entire floor of the Manhattan skyscraper for security reasons.
The son of President Donald Trump appeared on the PBD Podcast over the weekend, where hosts asked him about his younger brother’s dating life and the recent reports surrounding the private dinner.

“Oh, God. You don’t want to know the dating advice that I gave Barron,” Eric joked, laughing with the hosts before adding, “He’s above his years, and he’s a great friend and also loves the cryptocurrency stuff.” When pressed for details about Barron’s reported date, Eric appeared reluctant to elaborate. “God, I can’t tell. I’m going to get myself in so much trouble,” he said.


Eric went on to defend his brother amid the headlines, saying that shutting down a floor of Trump Tower for security reasons was “like PG-13 versus where my mind would have been at his age.”

The comment came after Page Six reported last week that Barron, 19, closed off an entire floor of Trump Tower for a private date, citing a source who said the measure was taken strictly for security purposes.

Barron, the only child of Donald and Melania Trump, has kept a relatively low profile in recent years. He is currently studying at New York University’s Washington, DC, campus, according to People, and splits his time between Washington and New York.

While the Trump family has not confirmed details of the reported date, reports claimed that the lockdown of a Trump Tower floor caused some disruption for building residents and staff. The identity of Barron’s date has not been disclosed.

Eric previously spoke about his younger brother on the PBD Podcast in 2024, describing Barron as “somebody that gets along with people” and saying he didn’t believe Barron was dating at the time.
