The third child and second son of U.S. President Donald Trump, Eric Trump, has sparked speculation by hinting at a potential presidential run. While he did not commit, his words indicate that the Trump family's political dynasty may continue beyond his father.

What has Eric Trump said about Presidential run?

Eric Trump apparently left open the possibility of a probable presidential run in a recent interview. When asked if he would consider running for president this weekend, the son of President Donald Trump told Nikkei Asia that he would "never rule it out,” as quoted in a report by HUFFPOST.

At the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, he was promoting the cryptocurrency company World Liberty Financial, in which the Trump family controversially owns a majority stake. He said, "“I’m not saying no, but I’m also not saying yes.”

Can the Trump dynasty continue?

A family political dynasty would be "an easy one," but would it be worth it? Eric Trump told The Financial Times in July.

“Would I want my kids to live the same experience over the last decade that I’ve lived? You know, if the answer was yes, I think the political path would be an easy one, meaning, I think I could do it,” he said. “And by the way, I think other members of our family could do it too,” as quoted in a report by HUFFPOST.

Where does this leave the other family members?

Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump's siblings, have both been hailed as possible future Republican presidential contenders.

However, if their father follows through on his threats to run for an unconstitutional third term, they might all have to wait. Or if, as his critics worry, he tries to avoid the 2028 election entirely in order to prolong his tenure in the White House, as quoted in a report by HUFFPOST.
