Emmy Awards 2022: 'Abbott Elementary' star Sheryl Lee Ralph breaks tradition with Dianne Reeves song

The list of Emmy nominees in key categories for the 74th Emmy Awards is out. 'Succession' led the way in Emmy nominations, which saw the Television Academy's 20,000 voters sift through record submissions as production ramped back up from the start of the Covid pandemic. The awards will be handed out in Los Angeles on September 12.

HBO series 'Succession' about the Logan family known for controlling the biggest media and entertainment corporation in the world topped the nominations list with 25 nods, followed by 'Ted Lasso' and 'The White Lotus' at 20 each.

Netflix's 'Squid Game', a South Korean survival drama TV series, continues to make history by becoming the first-ever non-English language show to bag the Emmy nomination for outstanding drama. Not only that, but the brutal show about class, money, power and games, received a total of 14 nods.

Netflix sci-fi drama 'Stranger Things' Season 4 also found a spot in the lead at the Emmy nominations by earning 13 nods including outstanding drama series. Apart from top drama series, the show also is nominated for production design for a narrative period or fantasy program (one hour or more); casting for a drama series and more.

The second season of Apple TV's 'Ted Lasso' bagged one of the most nominations in comedy series for the second year in a row. Following right behind 'Succession', 'Ted Lasso' received 20 nominations this year at the Emmy Awards 2022 in total.

Brian Cox of 'Succession', Lee Jung-jae of 'Squid Game', Jason Bateman of 'Ozark' received nominations in the lead actor (drama) category at the Emmy 2022. Apart from them, Bob Odenkirk of 'Better Call Saul', Adam Scott of 'Severance' and Jeremy Strong of 'Succession' are also in the race for the top spot in the lead actor category this year.

Zendaya, who mesmerised everyone with her performance as Rue Bennett, a high school student struggling with drugs and love in 'Euphoria', is in the race for the lead actress in drama category. She is competing against Reese Witherspoon of 'The Morning Show', Laura Linney of 'Ozark', 'Jodie Comer of 'Killing Eve', Melanie Lynskey of 'Yellowjackets' and Sandra Oh of 'Killing Eve'.

Donald Glover, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, earned another Primetime Emmy nomination for his performance in FX series 'Atlanta'. The star will be going against Jason Sudekis ('Ted Lasso'), Bill Hader ('Barry'), Nicholas Hoult ('The Great') and more for lead actor award in comedy category.

Rachel Brosnahan of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' bagged a nomination for the lead actress award in comedy. Quinta Brunson of 'Abbott Elementary', Kaley Cuoco of 'The Flight Attendant', Elle Fanning of 'The Great' and more have also been nominated at this year's Emmy in the same category.
