Emiliano Martinez makes obscene gesture with Golden Glove following Argentina's historic World Cup win
Argentina’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez received the Golden Glove award at the 2022 World Cup.

Argentina defeated France 4-2 to win their third FIFA World Cup championship after the match ended in a 3-3 deadlock and went to penalties.
While Lionel Messi was destined to draw all the attention given that he finally won a World Cup trophy, Emiliano Martinez managed to steal it away. The Aston Villa goalkeeper cemented his place in Argentine legend and once again rose to the occasion after saving two penalties in a shootout against the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.
Martinez received the Golden Gloves award—a trophy given to the goalkeeper with the cleanest sheets—prior to the trophy being lifted. He won the prize from FIFA's Technical Study Group despite Jordan Pickford and Bono of Morocco both finishing with three.

While receiving recognition for his efforts at the FIFA World Cup on the podium, Martinez made an inappropriate gesture with the golden glove in his hand.
Although Martinez may have been making a joke, many analysts, ex-players, and fans felt that he should have refrained from acting in such a manner.
After the game, Martinez commented on his team's performance and claimed that it was his team's destiny to win the most-coveted title Qatar.
