Elon Musk's X introduces app dedicated to smart TVs. What does this mean for users?

Elon Musk is back with a new venture, now entering into the entertainment segment with an application that is compatible with smart televisions. According to the company, the app will not have any ads upon launch.

Elon Musk is working upon a new app compatible with TV screens. Musk's company X has developed the app that will have multiple features that include a trending video algorithm, along with AI-powered technology along with a cross-device compatibility, so that users can watch content simultaneously on their handheld devices as well as on their respective TV screens.

According to company officials, the initial launch will not see any advertisements but upon building their consumer base along with a proper revenue plan, X may plan on introducing ads to generate revenue for this application.

X also posted a preview of the video experience, providing a little glimpse of the app and its features. The videos also included Tucker Carlson’s interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin along with a footage of a SpaceX rocket kicking off from the Earth, according to Hollywood Reporter.

This concept may also be deemed as a cross promotion since Space X videos may be beneficial for Musk's promo as he also owns this entity.

Working on a similar concept like YouTube where this app will let users create and upload their own created videos, this X-aided app will also feature some third-party content. According to reports, the company has also struck a deal with Range Media Partners for a steady influx of ready third-party content. That deal will also see a show hosted by Jim Rome, a renowned sports personality along with some shows by Tulsi Gabbard and Don Lemon. Many other programs and shows may be revealed in the future.
