Is your state facing Starlink outage? Elon Musk’s satellite internet service down across US, check the list here

Starlink, Elon Musk-owned satellite internet service, was experiencing a massive outage as thousands of users were facing issues on Sunday, according to DownDetector. According to the outage tracking website, as many as 37,428 outages were reported. Users from several American states were facing trouble in using Starlink services. According to DownDetector, 60% of the users said they had internet issues, while 40% said they faced a total blackout. The states that reported the outage were Arizona, Utah, New Jersey, Dallas, and Houston, among others.

DownDetector provides a live outage map for Starlink. When the outage happened on Sunday evening, the key areas affected were Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and St Louis.

Reacting to the outage, Starlink said, "Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating," Starlink said, without providing further details. Starlink is available (i.e. licensed and operating) in over 100 countries and territories worldwide as of mid-2025.

Starlink services back online for most users

Starlink services were back online for most users after a brief outage, according to tracking website Downdetector.com. The number of U.S. users reporting issues fell below 1,000 as of 1:15 a.m. ET (0515 GMT), down from a peak of more than 43,000, Downdetector said. The platform tracks outages by collating status reports from multiple sources.

Accoding to the company's website, Starlink is the world's most advanced satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, video calls and more.
