Tesla and X's chief executive Elon Musk is currently calling out OpenAI for not keeping ChatGPT's codes public and keeping it open-sourced, just like what DeepSeek AI did. However, having said this, Elon Musk is not doing the same with GrokAI, an AI chatbot that has been built by Elon Musk's own company, which is rather ironic, says a Futurism report.

Elon Musk's new hypocrisy comes to light

According to a Futurism report, Elon Musk is repeatedly criticizing OpenAI for not making ChatGPT's codes available in the public domain, however, his own AI company has yet to do the same. Only one AI model by GrokAI has been made public sourced in March last year, and no more rollouts were observed to have been made in the public domain later on.

The latest GrokAI releases, including Grok 3 was released earlier this week but all of them are currently closed source, and Musk is yet to take any action on the same. This reportedly demonstrates Musk's hypocritical attitude around this matter, based on his recent criticisms of OpenAI.

OpenAI and Elon Musk have been at loggerheads since 2024 ever since OpenAI's board has rejected the offer for Musk to get onboard with the AI giant.
