A federal worker has responded to Donald Trump’s comments on Elon Musk’s email and the meme he shared, which mocked government employees.

Latisha Thompson, a Department of Veterans Affairs employee, was asked about the conflicting messages from President Donald Trump and Elon Musk regarding the email that threatened federal workers’ jobs.

Federal worker’s response to the email

Thompson was shocked upon reading the email, finding its content deeply disrespectful and insulting. In a recent interview with CNN, she said that federal employees provide essential services to working families, veterans, seniors and students every day.

Thompson explained that they are required to meet performance standards every six months, reflecting the significance of their roles in the government.

In her view, the email was nothing more than an intimidation tactic designed to humiliate, dehumanise and demoralise the federal workforce.
