Elon Musk’s $100 bizarre 'Burnt Hair' scent, here's everything about it

Back in September, the Tesla CEO and the world’s richest man first tweeted about the “Brunt Hair” perfume. The smell of burnt hair allegedly inspired the concept of the perfume which is now sold at $100 on "The Boring Company" website.

Back then, Elon Musk claimed that it was the same "The Boring Company" from where the perfume was “coming soon”. Further noting that they're the same people who sold flamethrowers back in 2018. The flamethrower was a $500 device sold by the company.

Again on 9 October, Musk tweeted a promotional photo of the red glass bottle of the perfume in which the word ‘Burnt Hair” is emblazoned in a silver script.


On Tuesday, the SpaceX founder jokingly tweeted that it was inevitable for him to get into the fragrance business with “a name like mine”. In a follow-up tweet, he declared the perfume the “finest fragrance” on Earth.

“Perfume Salesman”

It seems that the 51-year-old has taken the product launch seriously by updating his Twitter bio as “Perfume Salesman”, though the perfume thing was started as a joke.

The perfume is stated as “the essence of repugnant desire” on The Boring Company website, where the fragrance is available for purchase. The perfume will ship in Q1 2023, according to the website.

Musk claimed through a tweet on Wednesday that the number of Burnt Hair bottles sold is 10,000. As of 2022, Musk has a net worth of $219 Billion.
