Billionaire business tycoon Elon Musk came under attack after he took a humanoid robot on a short walk. In a video posted on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, humanoid robot Optimus is seen moving slowly around a room while a small group of people observe its movements. Musk has said in the past that Tesla aims to create a robot "capable of performing tasks that are unsafe, repetitive, or boring."

Earlier this month, the Tesa CEO shared a video of the humanoid robot showing off its new skill of folding shirts.

'The Tesla Bot'

At the company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Day event in August 2021, Elon Musk first announced Tesla’s Optimus, also dubbed 'The Tesla Bot'. Tesla unveiled its latest robot, 'Optimus Gen 2,' in December 2023. Optimus Gen 2 stands at 5 feet 11 inches tall, it weighs 121 lbs, and can run at a speed of 5 mph. This robot has a more human-like appearance and movement due to its new hands, feet, neck, and body.

But the SpaceX boss has come under attack for making the humanoid robot walk. An X user replied to Musk’s video, "HAS NO ONE SEEN THE MOVIE IROBOT?!." Another said, "WE DO NOT NEED THESE THINGS." Another X user wrote, "Kill it with fire."

Robot compared to Joe Biden

Some people jokingly compared robot's movements to President Joe Biden. An X user said, "Optimus walks better than Joe Biden." Another wrote, "Already outpaces Biden."

Earlier at an event in October 2022, the Tesla boss expressed hope to eventually make millions of the Optimus robots, which would carry an estimated $20,000 price tag per unit. He said, "There’s still a lot of work to be done to refine Optimus." He added, "I think Optimus is going to be incredible in five or 10 years."
