Elon Musk says SpaceX can not pay for Starlink satellite services in Ukraine, urges Pentagon to step in

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite net terminals produced via way of means of Elon Musk's aerospace company were an important channel of communication for Ukraine`s army amid its war with Russia. These satellites were first commenced last year in spring, that played pivotal role in enhancing the Ukrainian army’s combat and live exchange of tactics especially when the cellular phones and the net had been destroyed in the conflict with Russia.



A total of 20,000 satellites of Starlink have been donated so far to Ukraine. Musk had tweeted on Friday that the operation had cost $80 million to SpaceX and would eventually cost even more than $100 million.



However, SpaceX has told Pentagon that until the US military pays anything more than 10 million dollars to 100 million dollars each month, it may discontinue funding the critical satellite operation in Ukraine.

In a letter sent last month, Musk's SpaceX notified the Pentagon that it can no longer afford to keep offering the Starlink service in the same capacity, according to papers obtained by CNN.

Additionally, Elon Musk’s SpaceX asked that the Pentagon take on the burden of sustaining the use of Starlink by the Ukrainian military and government, which SpaceX estimates will cost $120 million or more this year and up to $400 million over the course of the next year.
