Elon Musk, out of control, should be threatened with arrest, says ex-Clinton secretary
Robert Reich, the former labor secretary, calls Elon Musk out of control and offers ways to limit his power, especially concerning X and SpaceX.

Reich called Musk's 2022 acquisition of Twitter, now known as X, dangerous nonsense. It was just about power, he claimed, not free speech, that motivated Musk's purchase. Regulators around the world should threaten Musk with arrest if he doesn't stop disseminating lies and hate on X, Reich continued, urging people to boycott Tesla and X.

Reich used the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France as evidence that international regulators may already be considering threatening to arrest Musk. Durov was arrested at Le Bourget airport outside Paris last week as part of a sweeping investigation opened earlier this year. French prosecutors alleged that he allowed criminal activity on the messaging app, and judges ordered him to pay 5 million euros in bail. Allegations against Durov include that his platform is being used for child sexual abuse material and drug trafficking and that Telegram refused to share information or documents with investigators when required by law.
The Federal Trade Commission in the United States should demand that Musk take down lies that are likely to endanger individuals, and if he does not, it must sue him under Section Five of the FTC Act. Musk’s free-speech rights under the First Amendment don’t take precedence over the public interest. The former labor secretary recommended that the US government should end its agreements with Musk's Space X.
Considering that Musk has demonstrated complete contempt for the public interest, why is the US government allowing his satellites and rocket launchers to become essential to the country's security? Given that Musk frequently misuses his financial power and shows disdain for the general welfare, he should not be given more economic power, as quoted in a report by Fox News.
Musk gave his support to Donald Trump following the former president's narrow escape from an attempted assassination during a Butler, Pennsylvania, campaign rally. The last recommendation Reich made to the American people was to make sure Musk's favourite candidate for president was not elected.
