In a video interview, Elon Musk stated that he doesn't own a home and lives at his friends' places. He also said that he doesn't own a yacht or enjoys holidays but prefers to fly to reserve time. This statement was made while Musk came across a comment that ridiculed billionaires for their money.

Elon Musk responded to a comment made on billionaires’ wealth

According to Bloomberg, Musk has a net worth of approximately $251 billion. Musk made his comments in answer to Anderson's question, who stated that many people across the world are dissatisfied with the billionaires' image because of the widening worldwide income imbalance. Senator Elizabeth Warren, one of the US lawmakers, has chastised billionaires like Elon Musk for low tax bills as compared to other people.

While Musk acknowledged that his personal wealth was beyond crazy, he also stated that his individual usage wasn't much. Earlier this year, Musk had promised to put all his homes and properties for sale and practically all of his assets. Till now, Musk has traded several significant properties under his real estate holdings, including Gene Wilder's former mansion from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Despite being the world's richest person, Musk's comments appear to be his first acknowledgement that he doesn't have his own residence. Friends of the billionaire have remarked on his frugal ways throughout the years.

Other than crashing at his friends' places, on some days, Musk is said to visit Waterfront Estate in Texas, whose owner is Ken Howery, a billionaire who has known Musk since they worked together at PayPal. Before the property was sold, it was one of the most expensive listed properties in the capital city of Austin.
