Elon Musk is not backing down. After clashing with both major parties over a massive spending bill, the billionaire is doubling down on his idea for a new political force. A new poll indicates that a surprising number of Americans, particularly Republican men, may be willing to follow him.

Why is Elon Musk starting his own party now?

Elon Musk's proposed "America Party" is gaining traction, with a new poll finding that 40% of voters would likely support it. The Tesla CEO has framed the party as a response to bipartisan overspending.

According to a Quantus Insights poll published on Wednesday, 40% of respondents said they would probably support Musk's "America Party," which seeks to win over voters who are fed up with both Democrats and Republicans. Musk posted the survey's findings on X, describing them as "Encouraging,” as quoted in a report by The Latin Times.

Elon Musk keeps criticizing the bill and the lawmakers who are behind it as it gets closer to being finished. Accusing Democrats and Republicans of forming the "PORKY PIG PARTY," he warned that both parties are pushing the nation into "debt slavery."

How are Americans responding to the idea?

The survey shows glaring differences in demographics. Republican men are most likely to support Musk's party, with 23% stating that they would be "very likely" to do so and 34% stating that they would be "somewhat likely."

Democrats are still skeptics; 32% of women and 36% of men say they are "not at all likely" to support the "America Party." Nevertheless, the statistics indicate that almost 50% of voters are at least receptive to the notion of an alternative party.

Could this actually reshape U.S. politics?

Elon Musk has maintained that the recent bill violates conservative pledges to control spending by raising the debt ceiling by a record $5 trillion. He promised political repercussions in a string of posts: "Every congressman who ran on a platform of cutting government spending and then swiftly supported the largest debt increase in history ought to hang their head in shame! And if it's the last thing I do here on Earth, they'll lose their primary the following year."

President Trump has downplayed Musk's opposition to the bill, claiming that the billionaire's recent outspoken protests are motivated by resentment over the bill's removal of electric vehicle requirements that favored Tesla. Musk, however, maintains that the national debt is the main source of his worries.
