Twitter suspends accounts of journalists covering Elon Musk over 'doxxing' allegations
Twitter has suspended the accounts of several journalists. Twitter CEO Elon Musk claimed the journalists' accounts, which were at least half a dozen, were suspended after they violated the company's new 'doxxing' policy, according to reports.

Recently, Musk had a dispute with a Twitter user, Jack Sweeney, who tracks the CEO's private jet flights, and some of these suspended accounts were handled by journalists who had recently tweeted about this feud. Among these journalists were The Washington Post's Drew Harwell, New York Times' Ryan Mac, and CNN's Donie O'Sullivan. Mashable's Matt Binde, The Intercept's Micah Lee, and independent journalists Tony Webster, Keith Olbermann, and Aaron Rupar also faced a Twitter suspension.

While speaking on the matter, Musk stated the journalists, whose accounts were suspended, had posted his real-time location or "assassination coordinates", which violated "Twitter terms of service". Responding to another tweet, the Twitter CEO stated being "some time away from Twitter" was a good thing for "the soul." Earlier, after Sweeney's account was banned, Musk had said any Twitter handle "doxing real-time location" would be suspended. When the tech mogul tuned into a Twitter Spaces conference and was asked questions from a few of the banned reporters, he said there was no "special treatment for journalists."
