However, Swisher believes that Trump, despite praising Musk during his campaign, will ultimately find it difficult to share attention with the billionaire entrepreneur. Swisher's analysis was echoed by CNN host Chris Wallace, who reflected on similar tensions during Trump’s first term, citing how former strategist Steve Bannon’s rise to prominence caused unease within the administration. “I remember thinking, ‘The boss is not gonna like that,’” Wallace recalled, referring to Bannon’s Time magazine cover in 2017.

Musk’s influence has raised speculation that he could be given a prominent role in Trump’s administration. However, Swisher suggested that Musk's tendency to dominate discussions might alienate Trump. “Musk will be exerting as much influence as possible,” she said, but warned that Trump could soon push back if Musk grabs too much of the limelight, similar to how Bannon was sidelined after becoming a media figure.
