Elizabeth Holmes' final verdict scheduled for Friday. Here are details

The infamous founder of the start-up Theranos, which is blamed for failed blood testing devices earlier this year, Elizabeth Holmes, is to be sentenced on Friday in San Jose.

The government lawyers have asked for a 15-year-long punishment with restitution and probation. The probation officer, however, requested a 9-year term.

On the other hand, Elizabeth's judge asked the judge in charge, Edward Davila, to reduce the prison term up to 18 months and follow it with community service and probation.


Nearly 100 people have written to Judge Edward Davila to support Holmes and reduce her prison term. The list of the requestors includes Billy Evans, her partner, company investors Sen and Draper, and other members of the Holmes and Evans family.

Her Friday's verdict will cap off Holmes' downfall. Once regarded as the Tech Industry Icon, Holmes is one of the few tech owners convicted and sentenced to prison.
