Donald Trump served with a lawsuit?
An Election Day court filing has now revealed that Donald Trump had been summoned in a defamation case, the service of which was done to Trump's director of security, Dan Freeman, on behalf of the former US President.

Has Donald Trump been served with a new lawsuit amid Election Day?

Trump was not present at Mar-a-Lago when this summon in the defamation case arrived, as the former president was busy campaigning in the Sun Belt that day, hosting a major rally in the region of Tempe, Arizona.

This defamation suit was filed last month and had been initiated by the exonerated group of the likes of Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Antron Brown and Kore Wise, who are alleging that Trump had falsely stated some facts and figures in the Presidential debate with Kamala Harris back in September.

What is the basis of the legal lawsuit against Trump?

These five had been wrongfully convicted in the year 1989 for a brutal assault on a New York citizen. In the defamation suit, this group stated that they were cleared of any wrong doing and had never pled guilty to any crime. Moreover, Trump's statement claimed that the Central Park assault victims were dead, which was also untrue.

Meanwhile, this suit was deemed as 'another frivolous election interference lawsuit that was designed by leftist activists', according to Trump's spokesperson Steven Cheung.
