Election Day bombshells by Donald Trump: US President reveals strikes in Iran, Strait of Hormuz, major military message to Israel, trade deal with Canada

Election Day for US Midterm elections 2026 is here as millions of Americans are casting votes for one final time as ruling Republic Party is trying to defend the Senate and the House of Representatives against resurging Democratic Party. On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump has given telephone interview to Fox News and made some headline grabbing statements ranging from cutting down military aid to Israel, making a trade deal and the biggest of them ordering a strike against Iran and islands near Strait of Hormuz.

Trump's bold statements have come at a time when Democrats must flip four seats in the Senate and three seats in the House to wrest control of the chambers from Republicans. Control of Congress would give Democrats a way to push back against President Donald Trump’s agenda during the final two years of his term.

The battle for control is playing out mostly in states and districts Trump previously won by wide margins. All eyes are on Senate contests in Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio and Texas, while House battlegrounds are scattered across the country.


US Stops Military Aid to Israel

President Trump on Tuesday said he made a deal with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that Washington would no longer be providing military aid to Israel after the end of this year.

Speaking to Fox News' Fox and Friends, Trump said Israel no longer needs it and that some Democrats and left-wing politicians were using this US funding to Israel as a talking point to criticize Republicans.

"Now, as far as paying Israel, Bibi Netanyahu and I have made a deal that we give Israel $4 billion a year, and we made a deal months ago that we're stopping," Trump told Fox News' Fox and Friends.

Trump said agreements have been made and the US will stop payments by the end of 2026.

US Trade Deal with Canada

President Trump while speaking to Fox and Friends on Fox News said the United States was close to making a trade deal with Canada soon and that as part of that deal Canada was going to give fertilizer to the United States without any tariffs.

Trump said during the interview with Fox News that Canada is very good friend of the US and both the nations are going to make a deal very soon and it will be a great deal.

Canada and the United States have slapped billions of dollars in tariffs on each other in recent months. The imposition of ​tariffs on Canada has emerged as an issue in some northern US border states like Michigan and Maine before US midterm elections on Tuesday.

US Strikes Iran, Strait of Hormuz

The biggest bombshell that President Trump dropped on Tuesday's Election Day when the Republican leader confirmed US strike on Iran during his Fox telephone interview. President Trump previously said the U.S. wouldn’t launch strikes on Iran before the midterms.

A U.S. official has also confirmed that the United States launched strikes on Iranian targets in what appeared to be a limited operation on the eve of Tuesday’s crucial midterm elections.

Iranian state media reported explosions being heard on the islands of Qeshm and Hengam in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and in the nearby mainland area of Bandar Abbas. Unlike earlier in the war, the strikes were not publicly announced.
