Ed Kelce shares how his son planned a proposal to Taylor Swift in Lee’s Summit

Ed, Kelece, the father of Travis Kelce, revealed details about the Kansas City Chiefs star's planning behind his proposal to Taylor Swift on Tuesday, August 26. Two years after they started dating, the 35-year-old Super Bowl winner and his pop-star girlfriend, now fiancée, announced their engagement on social media.

In a joint Instagram post, the celebrity couple wrote, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married. " They also included photos showing the Chiefs player proposing to Swift. A close-up shot of the ‘Love Story’ singer's ring caught fans' attention.

However, the two individuals did not disclose the time or location of the proposal.

But in an interview with News 5's John Kosich, Ed revealed that the proposal occurred "maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago" at a garden in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

"He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event," Ed said.

After the proposal, they FaceTimed Ed and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew.

"I got a FaceTime call from them, and as soon as I saw the FaceTime, I saw it was Travis, and then I saw Taylor there with him, I knew what they were going to say," he said to the outlet, "and they, you know, let us know."

On August 13, Swift made her podcast debut on Kelce's New Heights podcast. During the episode, they discussed how they first met in 2023 and Kelce's public proposal for a date. He had planned to give Swift a friendship bracelet that had his phone number on it, but the attempt did not go as intended.
