Eastern Kentucky football player Marquae Kirkendoll accused of robbery, arrested. Know more details

Marquae Kirkendoll, Eastern Kentucky defensive back, has been booked for robbing a postal worker. The incident occurred on January 18 in New Mexico City.

Eastern Kentucky University has suspended Marquae Kirkendoll from the team after the charges were filed in the federal court of New Mexico.

The 21-year-old has been charged with stealing the keys to unlock mailboxes and lockers, using a gun to threaten, and aiding, abetting, and conspiring, along with another man. Following the charges, Marquae Kirkendoll was arrested on Wednesday. An Eastern Kentucky Football spokesperson confirmed that the accused was suspended from the programme following his arrest.


Marquae Kirkendoll is a former New Mexico player who appeared in 16 games for the team across two seasons. He joined Eastern Kentucky in January on the back of notable performances. The player stands six feet tall and weighs 184 pounds.

Another accused arrested along with Marquae Kirkendoll is Rayshawn Boyce, also a former UNM player. Boyce also faces charges of carrying an illegal firearm and was earlier convicted of domestic violence.



Kirkendoll was initially suspended indefinitely by Eastern Kentucky. However, the player was delisted from the university roll on Friday.

Furthermore, it was mentioned that the arrested accused would eventually be transferred to New Mexico following his hearing on September 1 in Lexington. The charges came in on Tuesday, which was followed by his arrest the very next day.

Per the documents filed in the court, John Doe, a postal worker in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, was confronted by Marquae Kirkendoll and Rayshawn Boyce on January 18, 2022. After allegedly threatening the worker with a firearm, the two accused stole the postal key to the mailboxes. According to Eastern Progress, Marquae can be sentenced to a 10-year prison term for each of the two charges—aiding and abetment—to be served concurrently or consecutively.

The charges levelled against the accused also carry a maximum fine of $250,000.
