The 6-foot-6 Rutgers standout - widely viewed as the draft’s No. 2 prospect behind Duke’s Cooper Flagg - finished his lone collegiate season averaging 19.4 points, 4.0 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game.
As the son of five-time NBA champion Ron Harper, Dylan brings both pedigree and playmaking to San Antonio’s backcourt.
"I'm feeling EVERYTHING... from crying, to laughing, to being happy," an emotional Dylan said after his selection.
Despite already boasting two established floor generals in Fox and Castle, the Spurs wasted no time securing Harper, confident he can complement their existing guards.
Spurs fans have already shown their excitement: a local restaurant unveiled a Harper mural this week, echoing the earlier tribute to Wembanyama before the Spurs clinched the No. 1 pick in 2023.
In addition to the No. 2 pick, the Spurs held the 14th overall selection - acquired from Atlanta in 2022 - and the 38th pick in the second round, further bolstering their draft haul.
