Today's co-host Dylan Dreyer has revealed that her six-year-old son Calvin Bradley was diagnosed with celiac disease, according to reports. The 41-year-old NBC News meteorologist told 'PEOPLE' about the changes that her family had to undergo after her son was diagnosed with celiac disease.

Dylan Dreyer has three children Calvin Bradley, Russell "Rusty" James, and Oliver George. Her husband's name is Brian Fichera.

Dylan Dreyer revealed that when asked about the constant stomach pain, her used to reply 'sharp'. This was going on for months, Dylan Dreyer has said.


Dylan Dreyer revealed that she had first thought her son's sharp stomach pain was due to food allergy or sensitivity. However, on numerous occasions, Calvin had to be taken to the energy room for treatment.

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Celiac disease is characterized by inflammation of the intestines.

The cause of celiac disease is known and is very specific. It is an inflammatory response to gluten (a group of proteins found in wheat and similar grains), as per CDC.

For most people, the symptoms of celiac disease will go away after starting a gluten-free diet although it usually will be months before the full effects of the new diet will be reached, the CDC stated.
