Dwyane Wade reveals equal financial split with wife Gabrielle Union and reasons for signing prenups
Former NBA star Dwyane Wade discusses his decision to split finances evenly with wife Gabrielle Union, highlighting their shared investments and responsibilities while maintaining prenups for individual assets.

In a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, Wade delved into the 50/50 financial arrangement that gained attention when Union discussed it on her own podcast last month. He explained that the decision stemmed from a comment he made lightly to the actor during their time in Miami.
Wade recounted, "I said something about it being my house that I paid for. My wife looked at me and said, 'You will never say that to me again when it's something that we share.' So when we moved to Los Angeles, my wife said, 'I got half on it; you will never say my house again — you can say that in the arena!'"
Having been married since August 30, 2014, Wade emphasized that their home was jointly purchased, with both partners contributing equally. He also highlighted their commitment to sharing the responsibilities that come with raising their daughter Kaavia, who was born via surrogate in November 2018, stating, "Anything that goes on with her, 50/50 we share it together."
While Wade and Union maintain an equal financial split, the former Miami Heat player clarified that they each bear the full responsibility of providing for their respective loved ones. He explained, "I have 20 to 50 responsibilities, and my wife has 20 to 50 responsibilities... She pays 100% of that, and you know what I do? I pay 100% of my life."
Addressing the topic of prenuptial agreements, Wade revealed that Union had also signed one. Expressing his viewpoint, he shared, "I told her the same way, 'I'll sign a prenup too. You're a millionaire, you got money. You work hard for yourself.'"
In May, Union gained attention when she discussed their equal division of household expenses on the Black Millionaires podcast. She spoke candidly about the challenges of overcoming a scarcity mindset ingrained during her pursuit of success in Hollywood and acknowledged her ongoing efforts to let go of financial worries.
Union expressed, "I struggle with that, still... I think I just have more responsibilities for my money. I get nervous like, 'Oh God, that movie didn't open, you know what does that mean? Am I going to have enough to hold everybody up?'"
