Dwayne Haskins was intoxicated and died after being hit by a dump truck, report says
According to a postmortem statement released on Monday, Dwayne Haskins had consumed twice the permitted limit of liquor to drive in Florida before he crashed a truck.

According to the statement, they have requested the public and media to respect Dwayne's privacy and pray for the well-being of Dwayne's wife and family, to give them the strength to overcome such grief as well as for the sake of the truth, that the public and media refrains from judging and withholding opinion during such unsettling time as law enforcement authorities investigate and conduct their crucial work. Cedric Saunders, Dwane's agent, declined any further remarks.
In addition to findings from the police investigation, also released Monday, the reports provide insight into how Haskins came to be in a collision after he attempted to cross Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale on foot at 6:37 am on April 9. The night before his death, Haskins was said to have been drinking heavily at a club. A team official told the medical examiner's office that Haskins had eaten dinner with a friend or cousin that night, and then they went to the nightclub. They later split up after a fight, as per the reports. Haskins had been training with teammates in South Florida all week. The report said that authorities found a woman who shared a car with Haskins following his death. It is unclear how the woman and Haskins knew one another.
