May (5-5) pitched into the eighth inning for the first time in his career, retiring the first 16 batters and striking out nine while allowing just two runs on four hits and one walk. The outing marked one of his strongest since returning from Tommy John surgery in April.
Freddie Freeman led the Dodgers offensively with two doubles and three RBIs, while Michael Conforto and Mookie Betts each added home runs.
Conforto’s seventh homer of the season came in the third inning, extending LA's lead to 5-0 after Freeman had already driven in two. Betts later added his 10th homer of the year in the seventh, ending a 21-game drought.
White Sox starter Aaron Civale (1-5) gave up five runs - only two earned - on five hits over five innings as Chicago was swept in a series of at least three games for the ninth time this season.
Shohei Ohtani scored twice after leading off the first and third innings with walks. Teoscar Hernández notched his 1,000th career hit in the fifth, and Esteury Ruiz made his season debut as a late-inning defensive replacement.
The Dodgers played without Max Muncy, who’s now on the injured list with a knee injury.
