Dungeons & Dragons Paramount+ live-action series gets cancelled but there is a twist

The live-action series Dungeons & Dragons will not be available at Paramount+. Originally created by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the series was ordered prior to the release of the highly popular 2023 film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

The much anticipated live-action Dungeons & Dragons series at Paramount+ has been cancelled. The Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson-created franchise has skyrocketed in popularity over the past ten years, because of the massive success of the live-action film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and internet streamers like Critical Role.

Eight episodes of the new series were ordered by Paramount+ before the movie's March 2023 release in cinemas.

As per the reports of Deadline, Paramount+ has cancelled its order and won't be hosting the new series. That is not to mean that the program has been completely cancelled. It is said that the project is going through a complete creative makeover.

The author of Netflix's most-watched film, Red Notice, Rawson Marshall Thurber wrote the original version that Paramount+ purchased. Before the series is re-released to prospective customers, a new creative team is being brought in for the revamp.

Dungeons & Dragons: Plot

Since the premise was kept under wraps until the show's premiere, no one involved has hinted or revealed any plot information. The live-action film from 2023 was supposed to immediately tie up with the television series.
