Dune 2 coming earlier than expected, original release date shifted to THIS date

Much-awaited “Dune: Part 2” originally slated for March 15, 2024 release has been preponed by two weeks. Warner Bros. and Legendary announced a new date for Denis Villeneuve's science-fiction. The sequel will now premier worldwide on March 1, 2024. The announcement follows the movie's planned November 3 release date being pushed off of the 2023 schedule due to strikes.

"Dune: Part Two" is the sequel of Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's inspiring science-fiction novel. The first part of “Dune” was released in November 2021. The film was widely hailed and grossed $402 million worldwide. It received 10 Academy Award nominations and won Oscars for several categories including original score, sound, film editing and cinematography.

While newcomers to the franchise include Christopher Walken, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and Léa Seydoux, the original cast, which included Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgrd, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem, will reunite with audiences in the sequel.
