Rappers, Drake and 21 Savage, are being sued by the publisher of Vogue magazine for exploiting the magazine's trademarks to advertise their collaboration album.

The publisher of the magazine, Condé Nast, claims in a lawsuit that the promotional effort for the album "Her Loss" was "based wholly on the use of the ‘Vogue’ marks," including the fake magazine cover.

Before the album's November 4 release, Condé Nast claimed that the rappers ignored demands to discontinue using the fake cover.

The Condé Nast lawsuit states that the company has no alternative but to start this action and seek the prompt injunctive relief demanded herein, as well as any and all applicable monetary remedies to discourage the type of brazen infringements and fraudulent advertising in which Defendants have participated.

According to the lawsuit, Drake and 21 Savage apparently distributed copies of the fake issue of "Vogue" magazine in North America's main metropolitan regions, including New York City and Los Angeles, to promote the fake magazine cover online, offline, and on social media.

The lawsuit claims that other social media posts gave the impression that the topic was official and had Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of "Vogue," approved it. The complaint contains screenshots of the social media posts, but Drake and 21 Savage's accounts don't seem to have them anymore. Condé Nast said that because of the rappers' campaign, there was "confusion" among the public and the media, which resulted in "many media outlets" publishing articles about the alleged cover.

This isn't the first controversy the new album has sparked. In one song, Megan Thee Stallion, a fellow rapper, is charged with lying about purportedly being shot by Tory Lanez in 2020. On Twitter, she purported to respond to the song, claiming that she was being used as "clout" and called the male rappers "Lame." While awaiting trial on the charges connected to the alleged shooting, Lanez is still under house arrest. On November 28, the trial is scheduled to begin.
