Former US President Donald Trump unexpectedly and unannouncedly visited Washington, D.C. on Sunday, sparking speculation and rumors about his visit.
According to freelance reporter Andrew Leyden, Trump appeared in a video posted online of his arrival at Virginia's Dulles Airport, one of the frequently used airports in the capital city.
Upon getting out of the plane, the former president gets into a vehicle waiting on the asphalt road. Besides golf shoes, Trump is wearing a white polo shirt.
After the motorcade drove away, Leyden speculated that Trump was headed to his golf course in Washington, D.C.
Aside from making no mention of the trip on his Twitter account, Truth Social, or any other means, Trump has only visited Washington D.C. once since leaving office in January 2021.
An array of theories have been shared online in response to the surprise visit. It has been suggested that Trump may be in D.C. to avoid being arrested by the Department of Justice or to receive medical treatment at Walter Reed.
