Donald Trump's secret weapon to stop Marjorie Taylor Greene's Senate bid? A devastating poll predicting she’d be flattened at the Georgia ballot box
Trump didn’t want Marjorie Taylor Greene to run for Senate, so a poll was done showing she would lose. Greene said she’s not running and blamed insiders for spreading stories about her.

The poll showed that Greene would lose to current Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff by 18 points, which is a huge defeat, according to the report of Wall Street journal. Marjorie is 50 years old and is one of the loudest MAGA voices in the House of Representatives.
Recently, she made headlines by asking Trump to pardon Derek Chauvin, the police officer convicted of killing George Floyd. Trump didn’t want Greene to leave the House because his republican party has only a small majority there, and she’s a strong Trump supporter.
The poll also showed that Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Kelly Loeffler would have a better shot at beating Ossoff. That’s because Kemp and Loeffler are seen as more moderate conservatives, unlike Greene who’s known for being very extreme.
On May 9, Marjorie posted a long message on X saying she wasn’t running for Senate. She claimed she could “easily beat Ossoff” but didn’t want to run because the Senate is “broken” and just protects the ‘Uniparty’.
After the report of Wall Street Journal, Greene responded again on X, saying she never talked to Trump about running for Senate or any other election. Greene accused consultants and aides of leaking false info to the media to control the story about her. She also seemed upset that Trump’s people weren’t defending her, saying, “They’re not on my payroll.”
Marjorie questioned the poll too, she said it was done by Tony Fabrizio, who refused to work for her, claiming he had a conflict of interest. She added, “that should tell you everything you need to know about the poll of 800 people.” She criticized the idea of polling 800 random people in Georgia, saying you can make polls say anything you want, according to the reports.
Marjorie also said that the same people telling Trump she can’t win are just trying to get rich off campaigns Trump endorses. The Independent reached out to the White House for comment, but no response was reported.
Even though the Republican Party thinks it can win in Georgia again after Trump won it back last election, Trump has a bad track record with choosing Georgia candidates like Herschel Walker, David Perdue, Ossoff and Warnock.
When Senator Warnock asked what his thoughts were of Greene running against Ossoff, he just laughed and said, “Come on, man”, as per Wall Street Journal report.
