US President Donald Trump's new administration has sent a bombastic email to nearly two million federal employees which gives them a stipulated deadline to decide on resigning or face a 'loyalty test'
US President Donald Trump, even before coming to the White House, had announced that he would be taking prompt steps to curb federal employees who he sees are too close to the Biden administration, or are against his administrative policies. And now, it looks like these plans are being brought into fruition as a recent White House email to nearly two million federal employees says they can resign via email in exchange for a payout, according to The Telegraph's report.

Reply 'resign' to quit your White House job

The deadline to reply to the email has been set at February 6, which means federal employees who have received the email have a week to decide if they want to continue working at the White House.

To make things even more interesting, the White House administration under Donald Trump claimed that federal employees who resigned within the stipulated deadline would receive up to eight months of pay if they took up the offer. Those who would agree to this email's content which has the subject line 'Fork in The Road', could simply reply with the word 'resign', and the formalities would then be begun by the government’s human resources agency, says The Telegraph.

At a time when some federal agencies and the US military services are looking at an increase in staff, the White House administration is in line for reductions in headcount, with these latest tactics being the testimony to the same.
