The new Donald Trump administration at the White House is currently planning a major spree of layoffs of federal employees if they do not submit their resignations by the stipulated timeline of Thursday. Here are some probable types of federal wor...

The Donald Trump administration is currently prioritizing the sacking of thousands of federal workers in the coming days, if they do not accept the resignation given by the White House in the first place. There was a proposal given to federal workers from the White House, where they simply had to reply 'Resign' to a memo email, and the rest would have been taken care of, including a standard resignation package.

Layoffs to begin soon if federal employees don't tender resignation

But, thousands of federal workers have not tendered their resignation yet, and now White House officials have stated that sweeping layoffs are scheduled to begin if federal staff don't submit their resignations by the deadline given to them, according to CNN.

The resignation package being offered by the White House to employees who resign within the deadline of February 6 is that they get paid through September 30 but do not have to continue working. This means they could leave voluntarily, and also get paid in the process.

Federal worker unions move to court

However, federal worker unions have strongly opposed this proposal by the White House administration, while the American Federation of Government Employees and other unions filed a lawsuit in US District Court in Massachusetts seeking a temporary restraining order against this resignation deadline of February 6, according to a CNN report.
