Donald Trump Jr. recently discussed about his father, US President- elect Donald Trump’s controversial Cabinet nominations during an appearance on Fox's ‘Sunday Morning Futures’. According to Independent, he eventually indicated that US President- elect Donald Trump has several ‘backup plans’ in place if certain nominees specifically Matt Gaetz, Pete Hegseth, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. eventually face any sort of difficulties in gaining the Senate confirmation.

Independent reported that during the appearance, Donald Trump Jr. emphasized on the fact that the transition team is not selecting candidates randomly; instead, they have prepared lists of 10 to 12 potential appointees for each position.

Donald Trump Jr. also acknowledged that some nominees are likely to encounter significant pushback due to their disruptive nature, which eventually challenges the established political order in Washington, asserted Independent. This resistance, he argued, is indicative of a threat to the ‘uni-party’ system that many politicians wish to maintain.

Matt Gaetz's nomination for attorney general has garnered scrutiny specifically following his resignation from the House just days before a House ethics committee was set to vote on allegations against him. Independent also noted that in addition to Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump has nominated Tulsi Gabbard as the Director of National Intelligence and Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
