White House Correspondents’ dinner shooting: Donald Trump was evacuated by Secret Service officials from dias at press dinner after there was reportedly gun shots being fired at the White House Correspondents event.

Trump administration officials have claimed that shots have been fired during the gala dinner event. A close aide of President Trump has confirmed that the Republican leader is 'safe', according to reports. Suspect has been taken in the custody after apparent shooting, media outlets reported citing Secret Service.
Other Trump administration officials attending the dinner were also evacuated after a loud commotion and noise near the hotel ballroom where the dinner was being held.
Many of the 2,600 attendees took cover while waiters fled to the front of the dining hall.
Shortly before being escorted off the stage by security, Melania Trump appeared to react to something in the crowd and had a concerned look on her face, according to a live feed from CSPAN.
Loud bangs were heard and guests at the black-tie White House Correspondents' Dinner scrambled to hide under tables. Tactical teams with guns drawn took position on the stage where Trump had been sitting before he was evacuated.
Police swarmed the Washington Hilton Hotel where the event was taking place, and helicopters hovered overhead. The pool report said the alleged shooter was in custody, citing the Secret Service.
