Former US President Donald Trump
Whenever Donald Trump thinks that everything is going right for him and the Republican Party in the US election race, thigs always happen that end up blindsiding him. One of the latest examples of the same can be from a Trump rally in Madison Square Garden, where the former US President faced criticism from Puerto Rican voters after a comedian insulted their homeland by calling Puerto Rico an 'island of garbage'.

Comedian hurts Trump's chances in US elections?

Tony Hinchcliffe, the comedian in question, stood up on the rally stage and addressed the audience, while hurting Puerto Rican sentiments, which may end up giving Trump some jolts in terms of Hispanic votes.

The US elections are just a few days away now, and no Presidential candidate can afford a major hiccup at this point that could see them lose a lion share of votes, but for Trump, things are now going to get increasingly tough, as according to The Mirror, Puerto Rican voters are sounding quite off after this incident hit the headlines across the country. Social media is also brimming with criticism around this incident, which the opposition of Trump was also very quick to swoop in upon.

Trump camp distances themselves from latest comment on Puerto Ricans

Meanwhile, A Trump campaign spokesperson has claimed that Donald Trump and his Party does not align with Hinchcliffe's 'hilarious' comments, that has triggered this major controversy. However, it is yet to be seen if distancing himself from the issue will help in keeping Hispanic votes secure for Donald Trump, as there is very little time to mop things up, as the elections begin on November 5, with the early voting phase having already begun.
