Domino's introduces garlic and herb Easter egg, internet divided over it

Weeks ahead of this year's Easter Sunday, renowned pizza chain Domino's has introduced what appears to be the most unusual Easter egg, which draws inspiration from its popular Garlic & Herb Dip. The limited edition product has left many fans divided.

The latest offering from the multinational food chain is an unexpected blend of its Garlic & Herb dip with rich white chocolate, The Sun reported.

Those planning to try it out can expect an innovative flavour combination of the iconic dip's savoury punch along with the creamy sweetness of the Easter egg.


Each of these limited-edition eggs are offered with a 25g serving of the dip.

For this special treat, Domino's has even come out with a trailer mimicking common ads of the chocolate brands by adding its own humorous touch to it.

In the video, a chef can be seen melting white chocolate and later adding dried parsley herbs over it to give its own unique flavour to the product.

According to Daily Express, the company has developed its own original chocolate to come up with its latest culinary experiment, which is a right balance between the savoury garlic and herb essence along with the creamy white chocolate.

It must be noted that Domino's garlic and herb dip is considered one of its highly popular condiments, with the brand claiming in 2023 that people in the UK consumed enough of it to fill a total of 17 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

The new offering has been made available from April 4 onwards.

“Easter is the perfect time to treat yourself, and we wanted to bring a fun, flavour-packed twist to the traditional chocolate egg," Izzy Gardener, a spokesperson for Domino's, said in a statement.

Gardener said this limited-time product is especially for the lovers of Garlic & Herb Dip who wish to "mix things up this year.”

Internet reacts to the new Easter eggs

On TikTok, a social media influencer, @bigdaddybsfood, did a review of the special Easter eggs.

In his viral video, he could be seen dipping the white chocolate into the pizza sauce, while he said that he was liking the smell of the garlic flavour.

Initially, the user said that like many others, he too was "on the fence" about this latest offering, but after trying it out, he was "pleasantly surprised."

The latest food item "blends the creaminess of white chocolate with the savoury essence of Domino's beloved garlic and herb dip," he said and added that this unique combination "just works" for the brand.

However, some of the people did not feel the same. "That cannot be good, it just can't be," one person replied to him.

There were others who even called it a "late April Fool's Day joke".
