The tech billionaire is once again making headlines amid ongoing protests against Tesla. Elon Musk is under increasing pressure to step down as Tesla's CEO.

Investors are concerned that his multiple commitments, particularly his government role, are harming the company.

Why do investors want Elon Musk to resign as Tesla's CEO?

An investor in Tesla demands that Elon Musk resign as CEO. With Tesla's market value declining and sales struggling, concerns about Elon Musk's leadership overload are growing. Some investors believe Tesla requires new leadership to address its current challenges.

Ross Gerber, a wealth manager, asserted that Elon Musk's time is too limited and his work with President Donald Trump is too contentious.

Ross Gerber, who is a Tesla investor, believes Elon Musk should step down as CEO, citing his divided focus and growing political controversies.

“Elon Musk should resign as CEO of Tesla unless he relinquishes his new position with the government, according to one of the company's original investors,” who spoke to Sky News.

In an interview with Sky's Business Live, Ross Gerber claimed that the Donald Trump adviser and tycoon had become too "divisive" and had lost focus due to his expanding interests.

He pointed to Musk's position leading the Trump administration's new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after the election.

How is Tesla struggling right now?

Mr. Gerber stated: "I think Tesla needs a new CEO and I decided today I was going to start saying it and so this is the first show that I'm saying it on." Someone has to take over the management of Tesla.

“Too much time has been spent neglecting the company. There are too many significant things that Tesla is doing, so either Elon should return to Tesla and take over as CEO, leaving his other positions, or he should concentrate on the government and continue his current work while finding a qualified candidate to lead Tesla," as quoted in a report by Sky News

Presenter Darren McCaffrey was informed by Mr. Gerber that the company was "absolutely" in crisis and that he had sold off a significant portion of his shares in recent months for a number of reasons, including the appointment.

As the first shots of the president's trade war were being threatened, a downturn started just before Mr. Trump took office.

Since December, Tesla's market value has fallen by over $800 billion, and on Tuesday, it fell 4% more in US trading. The company has been having a lot of problems.

What could happen next for Tesla?

Despite steep discounts to increase appeal at a time when consumer budgets are still being stretched, demand for electric cars seems to have peaked in key Western markets.

Low-cost Chinese competitors are eroding Tesla's market share.

Although Tesla's products were unquestionably the best available, Gerber claimed that Musk had only 24 hours in a day and had divided his time too much since acquiring Twitter.

Musk has ruined Tesla's reputation with his social media posts and collaboration with the president, which have generated too much bad press for the company, as per a report by Sky News.
