Ever since the announcement of the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Switch 2 edition, fans have been wondering whether the upcoming game will feature the paid DLC content from the Expansion Pass or not, NintendoSoup reported.

About the game

Breath of the Wild came out in 2017 as the launch title for the original Switch. Over the years, it became one of the highly popular games on the console, being played by a larger number of gamers around the world.

The latest confirmation from My Nintendo Store customer representative apparently confirms that DLC, which came out only after the launch of the Breath of the Wild, will not remain added to the purchase of the Switch 2 edition of the game.

Among the two DLC packs include The Master Trials and The Champions' Ballad, according to Screen Rant.

With their addition to the game, players will get to play new modes, Master Cycle, new dungeons as well as a new story arc.

The latest update might seem unusual to gamers as several of the remasters of existing titles have featured DLC content. This includes Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for the upcoming console, which features major updates like Phantom Liberty at no extra costs.

Similarly, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade also comes up with the content related to Intermission story, featuring ninja Yuffie.

As per Screen Rant, players might feel that the first-party games, which are getting Switch 2 upgrades, will not be able to get their hands on DLC content from the original release. However, this may remain available for third-party games based on the developer.
