The Dodger Stadium crowd of 44,063 groaned when Justin Wrobleski entered and later booed loudly after he allowed three straight one-out singles. Bryce Harper doubled home two runs, and Brandon Marsh followed with a three-run blast to give Philadelphia a 5-4 lead. Wrobleski’s ERA ballooned to 4.52 before manager Dave Roberts pulled him. Edgardo Henriquez then surrendered a solo homer to Max Kepler, stretching the Phillies’ lead to 6-4.
Ohtani briefly rescued the Dodgers at the plate, belting his 50th home run in the eighth to tie the game 6-6. But Marchan’s clutch ninth-inning shot sealed the win for Philadelphia, who had already clinched the NL East title the night before with a dramatic extra-innings comeback.
The Dodgers had built an early 3-0 lead against Cristopher Sánchez on homers by Alex Call and Kiké Hernández, but the Phillies erased the deficit. Sánchez went seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with six strikeouts, steadying himself after the rocky second frame.
