Do aliens exist? NASA to send missions to investigate life in outer space

NASA will send spacecraft, rover and helicopter-style robotic rotorcraft to outer space to investigate the possibility of an alien life. Here are the details.

Though the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, called Seti, began in the mid-20th Century, researchers could not get anything substantial as they failed to get radio signals from other planets. But it did not deter them. Now, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA and the European Space Agency are gearing up to send spacecraft on groundbreaking missions to uncover evidence of extraterrestrial life.

NASA's spacecraft to orbit around Jupiter

According to 'The US Sun', the US space agency will launch Europa Clipper on October 10, 2024, which will place a spacecraft in orbit around Jupiter. Jupiter's Europa is a moon roughly the same size as Earth's own. The spacecraft will study the environment of the place and study its similarity with those of the Earth, if any.

NASA has said that it will conduct a detailed reconnaissance of Jupiter's moon Europa and investigate whether the icy moon could harbor conditions suitable for life.

NASA's Dragonfly to land on Titan

NASA will send Dragonfly in July 2028. It is a helicopter-style robotic rotorcraft that will be able to take off and land vertically. It will be sent to land on Saturn's largest moon Titan. Dragonfly will investigate if alien life is possible in Titan.

The space agency has said that Titan is an analog to the Earth, and it can provide clues to how life may have arisen on our planet. Dragonfly can also study the place where liquid water and complex organic materials key to life once existed.

European Space Agency to send rover

European Space Agency will send Rosalind Franklin ExoMars Rover in 2028. The US Space Agency has helped design critical instrument elements for this space mission. The six-wheeled Mars rover is expected to carry a sampling drill and a laboratory drawer. It will explore the search for signs of past life.
