Disney has finally dropped the much-awaited trailer of its live-action film The Little Mermaid. Surprisingly, the trailer has received much backlash and over one million dislikes on its YouTube video. The huge dislike count has made the media company disable the dislike count. Due to this, further, dislikes are not seen, but YouTube geniuses, with the help of extensions, found out the exact number of dislike counts. The dislikes have reached 1.5 million.

The Little Mermaid's live-action remake gained a wide audience review and captured the hearts of devoted Disney fans. Initially, the movie trailer drop was much hyped and anticipated. But, just two days since its release, the trailer has already got more than one and a half million dislikes. The decrease in the hype and increase in backlash was mainly because of the Twitter trolls. Twitteratis have not taken the casting in a good way; hence, the media company and the film have faced online racial attacks.

The trolls, however, are not just for the casting approach. People have also tweeted that they didn't like the trailer's visuals. Many critics stated that the protagonist didn't even appear to be underwater. The director of the live-action movie Rob Marshall is also dug by fans for choosing Halle Baile.
