Apple TV+ has released a first look of "Disclaimer," a new seven-episode series by Alfonso Cuarón. The show will premiere on October 11, 2024. The first two episodes will be available simultaneously, with subsequent episodes released every Friday until November 15, 2024.

Plot and Cast

Based on Renée Knight's bestselling novel, "Disclaimer" follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a journalist known for exposing others' misdeeds. She receives a novel from an unknown author and realizes she is the main character, revealing her darkest secrets. Catherine must uncover the writer's identity and confront her past, which threatens her life and relationships. The series stars Cate Blanchett as Catherine, Sacha Baron Cohen as her husband Robert, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as their son Nicholas. The cast includes Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, and Hoyeon.

Production Team

The series is produced by Esperanto Filmoj and Anonymous Content, with Alfonso Cuarón, Gabriela Rodriguez, David Levine, and Steve Golin as executive producers. Renée Knight, the novel's author, is a co-executive producer.

Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki, known for his work on "Gravity," "Birdman," and "The Revenant," serves as director of photography alongside Oscar nominee Bruno Delbonnel. Both are also executive producers, along with Donald Sabourin and Carlos Morales. Finneas O’Connell, an Oscar and Grammy winner, is composing the score.

Filming

Filming for "Disclaimer" began in June 2022 and wrapped in March 2023. Cuarón directs all seven episodes, with Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel handling cinematography duties.
