Dinosaurs, Jurassic World exist? Study claims they might

Dinosaurs, Jurassic World have always been favourite subjects of the Hollywood movies. Now, a study has claimed that there might be a "Jurassic World" which exists on other planets.

Dinosaurs still exist? A recent study suggests that the possibility of a real-life "Jurassic World" might exist on other planets in distant solar systems, as per a Fox report.

The study, published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society journal, proposes that planets located far from Earth could potentially support life forms resembling dinosaurs. Researchers believe that humans currently possess the technology to detect such life on exoplanets.

The key to identifying these potential extraterrestrial creatures lies in searching for compounds not found on present-day Earth but were prevalent during the era of dinosaurs. The Earth once had significantly higher oxygen levels, around 30%, which facilitated the growth of complex life forms. In contrast, the current oxygen levels on Earth have stabilized at 21 per cent.

Scientists argue that telescopes with advanced capabilities could be employed to identify planets with conditions reminiscent of the time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The study suggests that the elevated oxygen levels during the age of dinosaurs could serve as a valuable indicator for the existence of complex life on distant planets.

One specific aspect scientists may look for is whether a planet is in a Phanerozoic stage, indicating its potential to host large and intricate life forms. According to lead author Lisa Kaltenegger, focusing on planets with higher oxygen levels could enhance the search for intriguing life forms beyond our solar system.
