According to media reports, an unusual incident occurred when U.S. President Joe Biden mistakenly boarded an empty plane at Andrews Air Force Base, leaving onlookers in disbelief. The plane had just transported freed American prisoners, all of whom had already disembarked. However, Biden, appearing confused, entered the now-empty aircraft.

The event, which was meant to welcome the prisoners released by Russia, quickly went viral on social media. Many observers called for the invocation of the 25th Amendment. One comment read, "Where is Joe Biden going? The passengers on this plane have already disembarked."

Here's the video.

Prisoners exchanged

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris welcomed journalist Evan Gershkovich and two other Americans back to the U.S. on Thursday following their release from Russia in a major prisoner exchange, as reported by an AFP journalist. Gershkovich, former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, and journalist Alsu Kurmasheva were greeted with cheers from family and friends upon landing at Joint Base Andrews near Washington. Each of them shared an embrace with Biden and Harris.

In a dramatic exchange on the tarmac in Turkey's capital, Ankara, 10 Russians, including two minors, were swapped for 16 Westerners and Russians previously imprisoned in Russia. The exchange was the result of months of secret negotiations, involving the release of Russian prisoners from Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway, and the U.S., and Western prisoners from Russia and Belarus.

This historic swap was the first between Russia and the West since December 2022, when U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner returned home in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout. It was the largest exchange since 2010, which saw 14 alleged spies traded, including double agent Sergei Skripal, who went to Britain, and undercover Russian agent Anna Chapman, who returned to Russia. The White House also disclosed that there had been attempts to secure the release of Putin critic Alexei Navalny, who passed away in February, as part of an even more ambitious agreement.
