According to New York Post, at the age of 13 Dr. Janette Nesheiwat accidentally caused the death of her father when a 380 caliber handgun fell from a tacklebox and got discharged while she was searching for scissors in their home at Umatilla located in Florida. The incident which eventually ruled an accidental shooting left her father named Ziad Ben Nesheiwat extremely fatally injured and then he died the following day in the hospital.
Though, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat has cited this trauma as an actual motivation for pursuing her career in medicine, at the same time, she has not publicly acknowledged her direct involvement in the tragedy, asserted New York Post.

In her memoir which is named ‘Beyond the Stethoscope’, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat reflected on witnessing her father's death but eventually omits details about the gun accident itself, noted New York Post. In spite of having such a painful past, she has built a successful career in medicine while serving as a medical director at CityMD and largely contributing to Fox News.
