According to ABC News, US President Joe Biden described the deal as a culmination of over a year of intense negotiations while emphasizing on its importance following 15 months of devastating conflict in the region. Adding onto that, he also expressed immense satisfaction that the agreement would allow for humanitarian aid to flow into Gaza and provide a pathway for recovery.
The deal is being eventually structured in three phases, with the first phase set to begin on te date of January 19 of the year 2025. This phase will actually include a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas and the release of 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for a significant number of Palestinian prisoners, asserted ABC News.
All sorts of negotiations were reportedly facilitated by Qatar and the US with both administrations working very closely to finalize the terms.
